1) Introduction

Welcome to my student/parent family. In the hope that we will have a long and productive relationship I have created this Survival Guide to inform the parents of new students how to assist their child in having a positive experience of learning to play music.

The Survival Guide is based on my years of experience instructing students of all ages. One thing I have learned is that without the support of their parents, their chances of learning to play well are greatly reduced.

I hope this manual will help you to get a good start on an exciting adventure.
